DHARAN, March 25: A group of eight persons affiliated to All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) vandalized a local higher secondary school in Dharan on Thursday morning for defying a two-day educational strike called by them.

They attacked Dharan Higher Secondary School in Dharan-4 when the students were attending their classes.

“We were yet to decide either to close the school or not as we were informed about the strike via a press statement on Thursday morning itself,” principal Raj Bimal Shrestha informed.

The window panes of the school have been shattered following the attack.

Meanwhile, the students of Dharan Higher Secondary School have demanded that the police detain the culprits and bring them to book.

“We have given a 24-hour ultimatum to the police to nab the culprits,” Prem Kumar Rai, a student informed.

The police have intensified the search of the culprits.

ANNISU-R has called a two-day education strike demanding an immediate release of its three members detained by the police.
