KATHMANDU, Oct 27: All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association (ANLTA), in collaboration with Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), is set to organize the second Kesha Group ANLTA U-14 Ranking Tournament from Monday.
Speaking at a press meet in the capital on Friday, the organizers informed that players of age 10 to 14 can participate in singles’ and doubles’ categories, which will be separated into two groups.
The organizers further informed that the matches of circuit-1 will be played from October 30 to November 3, and the matches of circuit-2 will be played from November 6 to 10. All the matches will be held at Satdobato Tennis Complex, Lalitpur.
Does Doing Business ranking mean anything?
A total of 40 players will participate in the tournament from India, Hong Kong and the United States, apart from host Nepal.
The participants include nine men and 13 women from Nepal, eight men and eight women from India, and one man and one woman from the US.
ANLTA’s member and tournament director Ajay Bista said that the US was also included in the tournament because according to the rule of International Tennis Federation (ITF), players from any region can take part in the ranking tournament.
The winner of singles’ category will get 200 points, the runner-up will garner 133 points, while the third-placed player will be awarded 80 points. Likewise, the winners of the doubles’ will get 200 points, the runner-ups will garner 130 points, while the third-placed pair will be awarded with 80 points in the tournament.
