Nepali model Anjali Lama bagged ‘Model of the Year’ award at ‘Grazia Millennial Awards 2019’, held in Mumbai on Wednesday.
The model took her Instagram to share the award with her followers. She wrote, “I am extremely happy and overwhelmed with this honor. Never in my wildest dream, I thought of such an award when I came to Mumbai. Thanks, everyone for your support and warm wishes.”
Earlier on March, Lama was starred in Calvin Klein’s ‘My Statement. #MyCalvins’, it was an advertising campaign done on International Women’s Day.
Anjali came out as transgender in 2005 after she moved to Kathmandu from her village. In 2017, she became the first transgender model to appear at an Indian fashion week event where she walked for Monisha Jaising’s opening show.
