ANFA names squads for PM cup

KATHMANDU, March 2: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has named two teams that will be representing Nepal in the PM Cup starting from March 5. Veteran defender Rakesh Shreshtha has been given the reigns of the Nepal (Red) team while the Nepal (Blue) team will be led by midfielder Basanta Gauchan. [break]



The Red team will have Bikash Malla, Ritesh Thapa and Samit Rajbhandari as their goalies. The defense will be manned by Anjan K.C, Sagar Thapa, Biraj Maharjan, Santosh Gurung, Chun Bahdur Thapa and Suman Subedi apart from the skipper.



Raju Tamang, Sandip Rai, Nabin Neupane , Khum Gurung, Ranjit Shrestha, Bishan Gauchan and Bijay Gurung will be carrying out their midfield duties. The team’s attack will be spearheaded by Jumanu Rai, Anil Gurung and Nirajan Raymajhi.



Similarly, the Blue´s net will be guarded by Kiran Kumar Limbu, Rupak Shrestha and Dinesh Thapa. The defense will comprise of Rabin Shrestha, Rohit Chand, Nurraj Kafle, Deepak Bhushal, Sabindra Shrestha, Sanjiv Shrestha and Bikash Singh Chhetri.



Anil Ojha, Dipendra Shrestha, Bhola Silwal, Santosh Nepali and Chetan Ghimire will help Gauchan in the midfield while Yugal Kishore Rai, Santosh Sahukhala, Nirajan Malla and Deepak Rai will lead the Blue attack.



The tournament will also feature national teams from Pakistan and Srilanka along with one club side each from Bangladesh and Thailand.
