KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Renowned American DJ Walshy Fire is set to perform in Nepal, following his appearance at a talk program held at the Aloft Hotel in Kathmandu on Tuesday. 

Organized by the US Embassy in partnership with LOD-Lord of the Drinks, the event attracted young Nepali musicians and creatives for a captivating talk program. The panelists for the event included Garrett Wilkerson, Public Affairs Chief of the U.S. Embassy Kathmandu; American DJ Walshy Fire; and Rabin Shrestha, CEO & Event Director of LOD.

Walshy Fire, known for his global hits such as "Lean On", brought his expertise and enthusiasm to the audience. With chart-topping tracks and collaborations with renowned artists, including Major Lazer and Beyoncé, the participants were eagerly looking forward to Walshy Fire's appearance.

During the hour-long session, Walshy Fire shared insights into his journey as a DJ and music producer. He emphasized the importance of passion, perseverance, and authenticity in the music industry. Drawing from his own experiences, he encouraged young Nepali musicians to embrace their unique sound and cultural heritage, and most importantly, to not give up on something they love to do.

Among the highlights of Walshy Fire's talk were anecdotes from his career, including his first meeting with Jamaican record producer Supa Dups and Sean Paul who helped kickstart Walshy Fire’s successful career.  He emphasized the power of collaboration and the challenges in music production, inspiring attendees to keep hustling. 

The event concluded with a lively Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to engage directly with Walshy Fire and seek advice on various aspects of music production and performance.
