Ambassador Nepal presents credential in Fiji

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Nepal´s non-residential ambassador to Fiji, Rudra Kumar Nepal, has presented his Letters of Credence to President of Fiji, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau amid a ceremony at the Government House in Suva Tuesday morning.



Issuing a statement on Tuesday, Nepal´s embassy in Australia, which is also accredited to Fiji, has informed that ambassador Nepal paid a courtesy call on following the credential presentation ceremony. [break]







"Welcoming the ambassador, the President referred to the friendly relations and various commonalities existing between Nepal and Fiji as multicultural, multi-ethnic, multi-religious, developing countries and the long association of both countries to the UN peacekeeping missions around the world," reads the statement.



During the meeting, prospects of developing bilateral relations in tourism, trade and other areas of mutual interests were discussed, the embassy said.

While informing on Nepal´s recent political developments, the ambassador informed the president that Nepal is holding Constituent Assembly elections in a free and fair manner.



Nepal´s ambassador to Australia is concurrently accredited to the Republic of Fiji.
