The home club amateur took one-stroke lead over pros Umesh Nagarkoti and Purna Sharma with the total of even-par 144.
Nagarkoti registered a card of two-under 70 on Tuesday to add to his overnight score of three-over 75, while Sharma played a round of even-par 72.[break]
Deepak Thapamagar fired two-under 70 and Rabi Khadka carded second straight one-over 73 to share the fourth position at two-over 146. Two other pros Krishna Man Rajbahak (73) and defending champion Rupak Acharya (74) are tied for sixth with the total of 147.
Overnight leader Shiva Ram Shrestha played a horrible round Tuesday to finish the second round at seven-over 79. He had horrible day on back nine. Shrestha, who had carded three-under 69 on the first day, played an even-par 36 on the front nine but dropped 10 strokes in four holes to finish the back nine at seven-over 43. He is eighth at four-over 148.
Other pros who survived the cut included Mani Rai, Pashupati Sharma, Deepak Neupane, Sanjay Lama, Ramesh Nagarkoti, Jaya Ram Shrestha, Deepak Acharya, Sachin Bhattarai, Rajan Thapa, Yelamber Adhikari, Surya Sharma, CB Bhandari, Ramesh Adhikari and Ram Krishna Shrestha. The winner of the last event, Surya Nepal NPGA Match Play, Ram Thapa along with Suman Rai, Dhruba KC, Uttam KC and Raj Pradhan missed the cut.
In the amateur section, Tashi Tsering is second with the total of 14-over 158 while Wanchen Dhondup, Neeraj Rana, Bikash Bogati and Rabin Rana also qualified for the final two rounds.
