KATHMANDU, May 15: Amateur Subash Tamang carded second consecutive three-under 69 to go top in the leader board after the second round of the Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship Gokarna Golf Club on Tuesday.


Tamang is at the top with the total score of six-under 138 and has two-strokes lead with overnight leader Jayaram Shrestha and fellow amateur Sukra Bahadur Rai. 


Rai carded best card of the day, six-under 66, while Shrestha could only manage to level-par 72, both are at four-under 140. Ramesh Adhikari carded five-under 67 for a total of three-under 141. Bhuwan Nagarkoti and Dhana Bahadur Thapa are at two-under 142. Nagarkoti carded five-under 67 and Thapa shot a round of three-under 69. Sanjok Moktan (70) and amateur Tanka Bahadur Karki (72) are at one-under 143.

Rame Magar (73), Bikash Adhikari (73) and Surya Prasad Sharma (74) are at even-par 144. Amateur Tashi Tshiring carded even-par 72 for a total of one-over 145. Deepak Magar (73), amateur Binod Tamang (74), Krishna Man Rajbahak (76) and Chuda Bahadur Bhandari (76) are at two-over 146.


Tamang scored two-under 34 on the front nine with eagle on the third hole and birdie on the sixth against bogey on the fifth hole. On the back nine, he made another eagle on 15th, birdie on 11th but dropped shots on 14th and 17th holes for one-under 35.


Rai scored three-under 33 on the front nine with birdies on third, fourth, seventh and ninth holes against bogey on eighth hole. On the back nine, he made an eagle on the 11th, added birdies on 12th and 14th holes but a drop shot on 15th gave him three-under 33 as well.


Shrestha scored even-par 36 on both sides. His birdies came on fourth, ninth, and 12th holes and drop shots were on third, eighth and 13th holes.


Adhikari scored four-under 32 on the front nine even though he opened his round with a bogey. He recovered with birdies on third, fourth, sixth, seventh and ninth holes. On the back nine, he made birdies on 13th, 15th and 17th holes but made bogeys on 14th and 17th holes for one-under 35.

Nagarkoti on his five-under 67 round today scored birdies on first, second, third, fifth and ninth holes for five-under 31 on the first half. On the second half, he made a birdie on 10th hole but dropped shot on the16th hole for an even-par 36.


Thapa played a bogey-free 69 today that included birdies on seventh, eighth and 11th holes.

Karki scored four-under 32 on the front nine with birdies on first, second, fourth and seventh holes. On the back nine, he made bogeys on 13th & 14th holes and further double-bogey on the 15th saw him play four-over 40.


Moktan played one-under 35 on each side. His birdies came on third, seventh, 12th and 13th holes against drop shots on sixth and 15thholes.
