All pumps in Valley received fuel today: NOC

KATHMANDU, March 5: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has said that it has supplied four lakh liters petrol and five lakh liters diesel to  the fuel pumps on Tuesday.



According to NOC, all the petrol pumps including the private pumps of the Kathmandu valley received the fuel today.



Birendra Goit, chief at  the NOC Thankot depot, said, “Considering the present situation, we have distributed the stock fuel at the depot and there will be no problem as we have enough stocks of petrol and diesel at the depot”



He added that pumps will start to sell the petrol and diesel form today evening onwards.



People are being forced to sit in long queues at fuel stations being operated by Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Sajha due to after Petroleum Dealers Association and tanker drivers halted fuel supply to protest murder of Ahmed Devan, a tanker driver, about a week ago while he was on his duty at Baireni.



Tanker drivers had halted fuel supply, demanding compensation of Rs 2.5 million to family of the victim.
