KATHMANDU, April 27: An all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to be held at Baluwatar at 3 pm today as part of effort to win the support of as many lawmakers as possible for getting the 11-point constitution amendment bill endorsed by the Legislature-Parliament in revised form.
The government and the federal alliance recently forged a consensus to hold the local election in two phases on the condition that the latter partakes in it. The latter had agreed to participate in the local polls after the government promised to address their major concerns by revising the 11 point-amendment bill the federal alliance objected to when it was registered at Secretariat of Legilature-Parliament.
The government tabled the 11 –point amendment bill on Tuesday despite opposition from the main opposition party CPN-UML.
The federal alliance had agreed to allow the government to table the 11-point amendment bill after the latter assured the former of endorsing it by making changes in it to incorporate their proposed contents.
