Aiming to provide more career oriented courses

Kathmandu, June 20: In the round table talk leading up to Republica presents11th Higher Education and Career Fair, one of the main topics discussed was to provide students with more career oriented courses. The participating 80 exhibitors in the Fair seeks to grant students with a variety of courses and answer all their queries under one roof, giving students ample room to decide on the course they want to pursue and college that best fits them. The round table talk was participated by Bigyan Shrestha, Managing Director of Softwarica College of IT and E-commerce, Dhruba Babu Joshi, Acting Principal of International School of Management and Technology, Anud Man Joshi, Founder and Managing Director of Westbound International College, Rabin Shrestha, from the Institute of Banking and Management Studies and Sugarika K.C. from Action Development Centre. Representing Direction Nepal were Trilokeswor Malla, Managing Director, Suman Maharjan, Event Coordinator and Pashupati K.C., Event Director.



Talking about the objective of the fair, Pashupati K.C. said, “We are looking to present key benefit to the visitor.”



Sugarika K.C. spoke about the great need for grooming and presenting oneself in today’s time. Action Development Centre offers many different personality development courses like a one day course titled ‘A day for myself’, a 15 day course called ‘Smarted’ and even a three month course. Focusing on leadership, communication and grooming skills, Action Development Centre often conducts research to follow up on its success rate.

Softwarica College of IT and E-commerce, who is also the title sponsor of the fair, aims to provide at least one IT professional in every Nepali household. Bigyan Shrestha said, “We will concentrate on IT for the next two years and we are also going to launch an NGO with our country’s top IT professionals. Through this NGO, we are hoping to spread awareness and knowledge about IT in various parts of the country. One of the things we will do is to donate old computers that will not fetch much if sold but which will help many students in villages.”

The college will also hold a lucky draw in the four day event, where the lucky one will win an Android smartphone.
