KATHMANDU, July 12: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has agreed to include the issue of fixing the salary scale of school employees in the Federal Education Act. The agreement was reached following negotiations with teachers and staffers' unions.
The community school employees have been staging a relay hunger strike in Maitighar for a month, demanding an increase in perks and benefits, and maintaining new positions.
General Secretary of the School Staffers Council, Shantinath Yogi, said that the government has agreed to table the law in the ongoing session of the federal parliament and mention the salary scale in the law itself.
