KATHMANDU, Aug 14: The government has introduced new salary scales for senior officials of the judiciary, constitutional bodies and the federal parliament, effective from July 16.
According to the new salary scale published by the Ministry of Finance in the Nepal Gazette, the chief justice of the Supreme Court will receive a monthly salary of Rs 112,522.

Supreme Court justices, members of the Judicial Council and the attorney general will receive Rs 93,547 per month.
Similarly, chief judges of high courts will receive a monthly salary of Rs 90,640, while high court judges will receive Rs 84,590. District judges will receive Rs 77,110 per month.
The monthly salary of heads of constitutional bodies has been fixed at Rs 93,547, the same as that of Supreme Court justices. Other constitutional office-bearers will receive Rs 85,426 per month.
In the federal parliament, the secretary-general will receive a monthly salary of Rs 84,932, while secretaries will receive Rs 79,290.
