KATHMANDU, May 16: Chandragiri Municipality has been sealed off for the next four days from 12 noon today in a bid to stop the spread of novel coronavirus.
A meeting of the municipality presided over by Mayor Ghanshyam Giri made a decision to this effect on Friday.
Mayor Giri said that the municipality will remain sealed off until 7 am, May 19. "The locals have been strictly advised not to go outside their homes in this period," he said.
Locals are strongly advised to use face masks and hand gloves and maintain complete social distancing if they are needed to go outside their homes for emergency purposes.

The municipality's decision comes after the municipality witnessed four COVID-19 cases in the past week. Chandragiri is a major entry-point to Kathmandu.
The meeting of the municipality also urged the house owners to keep records of the people who live in their houses on rent.
"If any tenant is found to be hiding without undergoing the COVID-19 test after coming from outside the valley, the house owner will be penalized in line with the directives issued by the Ministry of Health," the mayor said.
The municipality has also asked the house owners not to rent out their rooms until further notice.
The municipality has prohibited running government and nongovernmental offices, local shops and development works for the next four days.
The heavy-loaded vehicles have been allowed to ply Nagdhunga-Kalanki stretch of the highway. But the vehicles are barred from loading and unloading goods.
Two boys aged seven from Satungal and Dahachowk have been infected by the deadly virus. Likewise, a 32-year-old male and 33-year female from the municipality have also been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Keeping in mind the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, the municipality has decided to expand the scope of testing.
