In the first phase during current fiscal year, bio-gas plants will be installed in 20 APF kitchens. Likewise, the alternative source of energy will be fitted in 85 kitchens each within the next two fiscal years, according to the agreement signed between APF and AEPC.
As per the agreement, the AEPC will provide technical assistance for installing bio-gas plants and also cover 60 percent of the cost, according to the APF. The use of bio-gas plants will benefit the APF largely as it is not only cost effective, but its organic manure production could be used for further use.
