Adhikari elected as SEJON president

KATHMNDU, Sept 14: Nagarik scribe Bigyan Adhikari has been elected as a new president of the Society of Economic Journalists Nepal (SEJoN on Saturday.



Adhikari won the presidential post defeating Pradip Chapgain by 21 votes. Adhikary got 117 votes out of 220 whereas his opponent Chapagain got 96. Adhikari has been working as a business reporter for about a decade. He is currently affiliated with Nagarik National Daily as a business reporter. [break]



Similarly, Lok Bahadur Chapagain (Karobar Business Daily) elected as Vice president, Pushpa Raj Acharya (Karobar) elected as General secretary , Diwakar Panta (Kantipur Television) elected as treasurer, and Roshan Adhikary (Kantipur Daily) elected for the post of secretary in the SEJoN election.



Yadav Humagain (Karobar), Pratiksha Khanal (Radio Kantipur), Ashish Gyanwali (Annapurna Post), Ramraja Shrestha (Abhiyan Daily) and Bhuwan Poudel (Karobar) elected as members. Earlier, amidst a function economic adviser for finance minister Dr Chiranjivi Nepal inaugurated the SEJoN´s 14th General Assembly. The election committee announced the election result late Saturday evening.
