Acting PM Pokhrel and Indian Minister discuss about petro pipeline extension

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Acting Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel and visiting Indian Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, held a meeting today on the issue of progress in the extension of petroleum pipelines between the two countries.

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Acting Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel and visiting Indian Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, held a meeting today on the issue of progress in the extension of petroleum pipelines between the two countries. 


During the meeting took place at the Defense Ministry, Singha Durbar, the Indian Minister apprised the acting Prime Minister that the Indian government was ready to expedite works relating the pipeline extension from Motihari of India to Amlekhgunj of Nepal via Raxaul border, adding that works would be started after sorting out some technical issues.

Talking to RSS after the meeting, the Acting Prime Minister said the trees cutting issue for the pipeline extension project was also discussed with the Indian minister. Besides, the two exchanged views on the matter of completing the construction of Hetauda Polytechnic Institute supported by the Indian government soon. 


The Indian Minister arrived here this morning on a two-day visit. Upon arrival at Tribhhuvan International Airport, he was received by Joint- Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Nawaraj Dhakal and Indian Ambassador for Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri. He arrived here at the Invitation of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister, Matrika Yadav. 


Meanwhile, a bilateral ministerial-level meeting on the Motihari- Raxual- Amlekhgunj petroleum pipeline project kicked off here today.
