At the press meet, Acharya said that he is to set the world record to materialize the slogan "Campaign for Nepali people´s pride, unity, reconciliation and peace."Acharya had earlier claimed that he had set the world record by reading for 114 hours 34 minutes and 34 seconds continuously.
He was the best reader of the year of the Best Readers´ Competition organized by The Readers´ Club in 2067 BS.
Earlier, he had practiced for world record by shaking hands for up to 60 hours. Before this, Pawan Timilsina and Dinesh Timilsina of Nepal had set the record in the Guinness Book of World Records by shaking hand for 42 hours, 12 minutes and nine seconds.
