"Two or three days ago, the consumers complained that the water smelled. This morning, when we opened the lid of the tank, we saw a dead body," said Malla. He said that during the expansion of the Prithvi Highway, the water pipes on the roadside were cut several times, so he suspected that the water was cloudy because of that.
"The pipe is cut every day, so we thought that there was some smell in the water, but after it was a little too much, we were shocked when we opened the lid and saw the dead body," said Malla.
He said that it is not clear who the body belongs to and it seems the body had been dumped in the water tank after murder. "When we opened the lid, at first we saw what looked like hair, then we also saw clothes. We called the police immediately," he said. The consumer committee has been distributing water to 138 households in Manhari.
District Police Office Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Bahadur Khand said that the body was found in the water tank and an investigation has been started. "A team with a police inspector reached the spot and the investigation has already started. The dead body has not been identified yet," he said.
