Five trucks had crossed the border into Nepal and three empty trucks towards, Raxual, India through the checkpoint this morning, according to Chief District Officer Keshav Raj Ghimire. The trucks that entered Nepal were carrying machinery equipment.The cadres of the agitating Madhes-centric political parties have obstructed the border checkpoint again soon after the news of the operation of the transit point became public. The transit point has been obstructed with the protesters demonstrating at the Friendship Bridge on the Nepal-India border right ahead of the transit point.
The Madhes-centric political parties have been blocking the transit point for over five months to protest some provisions of the new constitution which they say are discriminatory to the Madhesi community. RSS
