Ghimire operates a fishing resort in Palpa, while Thapa Magar runs a Allo factory in Lalitpur.
“Returning to Nepal from the Gulf after facing hardship, I decided to start poultry farming, but I hardly had Rs 10,000. I didn’t give up my idea; instead started the business with the amount.”
Ghimire, who returned from the Gulf some four years ago, started the business with some 100 chickens and also grew vegetable.
Now, he operates Rani Mahal Fishing Resort in his home district. He was declared the Second Runner-up at Daayitwa Enterprise Challenge in Palpa 2014 and was awarded with Rs 200,000.
Thapa Magar also has a similar story to tell. She is one of twenty Daayitwa Innovation Leaders 2015. She is an inspiring leader, a women entrepreneur who is the founder of Himalayan Allo Udhyog based in Lalitpur.
“Raw materials are available in Nepal and its demands is very high,” she shared, “Many women have got employment in my factory.”
Tsering Dolma Chawa Sherpa, Communication Coordinator of Daayitwa, said the organization will continue to hold such programs to convey stories of exemplary people of the society.
