There are 214 Ayurveda clinics operational in the country. The Department has a target of providing the Ayurvedic treatment services by establishing Ayurveda clinics one each to cover five VDCs in the districts, said Dr. Devakala Bhandari, Director General of the Department. [break]
The Ministry of Health and Population has also allocated budget to this effect, she added.
The department decided to establish the Ayurveda clinics as per the government´s policy to incorporate all VDCs with the Ayurvedic medical services, said Dr. Bhandari.
Similarly, the Department has decided to establish national herbal farming centre in Dhanusha.
Dr. Bhandari said, "Necessary process has been forwarded making policy decision to establish national herbal farming center."
Likewise, the government has decided to establish a Regional Ayurbed Hospital in Janakpurdham. It would provide specialist Ayurbedic hospital services, stated the department.
The Department stated that the government also decided to construct a 50-bed Regional Ayurvedic Hospital at Rajpur of Geta VDC in Kailali district.
Unified CPN (Maoist) leader and former Minister for Labour and Transport Management, Lekhraj Bhatta and Director General of the Department Dr. Bhandari jointly inaugurated the hospital in Kailali recently.
