KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Supreme Court has ordered the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to furnish clarification over the latter's investigation into properties of Sajha Yatayat chairman and civil society leader Kanak Mani Dixit.
Responding to a writ petition filed by Dixit, a single bench of Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha on Sunday issued the show cause order. Dixit on December 15 had filed the writ petition at the apex court against the CIAA and its chief commissioner Lok Man Singh Karki. Dixit has argued in the petition that the CIAA asked him to furnish property details going against existing legal procedures.

He has urged the SC to annul the CIAA's instruction. He has claimed that the CIAA asked him to furnish property details without informing him about the allegations against him.
The anti-graft body had summoned Dixit at CIAA office on suspicion of having amassed property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
However, Dixit claims that he was not informed about any charges against him when he appeared at CIAA but was only asked to furnish his property details.
