NUWAKOT, Feb 7: The entire village at the Upper Tigaun in Belkotgadhi municipality-11, Nuwakot has been affected by an outbreak of seasonal flu for the past three days.
As said by ward chair Ramhari Pandey, every house in the village has at least one seasonal flu patient.
A health team from the Belkot Health Post has been mobilised since Thursday to treat the affected. So far 54 have been treated.
The village is home to some 50 households and the infected complain of high fever, cough, and common cold. The villagers have been urged to use safe drinking water and take preventive measures against the flu.
The ward chair said they were effortful to prevent the disease to further spread and contain it. The health squad is treating the patients upon reaching their doorsteps, he said.
Aged people and children make up the highest number of infected, said health worker Kamala Pandey.
