House committee urges talks

KATHMANDU, Oct 18: Parliament's Social Justice and Human Rights Committee has urged the government and the agitating Madhes-based and Tharu parties to resolve their issues through dialogue and end the protests along Nepal-India border points for smooth supply of petroleum products and other essential goods.

A meeting of the committee held at Singha Durbar on Sunday decided to urge both the government and the agitating parties to sit for talks and resolve their issues at the earliest.Likewise, the committee also directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure that all the locals injured in the clash with police during protests in the Tarai region receive free treatment.

Similarly, the committee also directed the Ministry of Commerce and Supply to take initiatives to prevent black marketing of essential goods in the market.
