POKHARA, Sept 2: Maoist-affiliated All Nepal Teachers´ Union enforced an indefinite shutdown of New Millenium Academy, a private school in Birauta of Pokhara, accusing the school of sacking two of its member teachers for no reason.

Maoists have hoisted their flags at the gate of the school. A total of 550 students have been affected by the strike.

The school had sacked math teacher Shreedhar Giri in June on charges of sexually harassing a girl student. Another teacher Raju Sharma was also sacked for aiding Giri.
