Teachers shut down schools in Mustang

MUSTANG, Aug 27: Local teachers and education officials in Mustang district have shut down all the academic institutions in the district on Thursday saying that the government has discriminated the locals of the remote districts by not providing remote allowance.



They said state has discriminated the local employers barring them from natural norm of equal wages for equal labors.



Local teachers and officials used to receive equal salaries and allowance to the teachers and officials those who arrive for job in the district from other districts till 2057BS.



Chairman of Protest Coordination Committee Sher Bahadur Gurung said they have shut down the schools today as a symbolic protest.



In Mustang district 94 teachers and some 25 officials of the same district have been working.



Local teachers and officials have threatened for stir saying district development committee has not increased the Remote Allowance though all officials have enjoyed the facilities.



But, Kedar Singh Thapa, an official at the DDC said government has not increased the Remote Allowance to the local teachers and officials.
