8 student unions stage sit-in over fee hike

BHAKTAPUR, April 16: Eight students organizations staged a sit-in before the Department of Education today, calling for immediate withdrawal of the decision of the institutional schools to hike tuition fees.

The eight students organizations including Nepal Students Union, ANNFSU, ANNFSU (Revolutionary), Madhesi Students Forum, Democratic, ANNFSU (fifth), National Democratic Students Union, Nepal Democratic Students Front jointly staged the sit-in in protest against the hiking of fee by the private schools.On the occasion, the students organizations also submitted a memorandum to Director General of the Department Dilli Ram Rimal. They have warned of taking a severe step of stopping enrollment work at all the schools if the decision was not withdrawn before April 18, according to ANNFSU spokesperson Aasi Lamichhane. RSS
