At a meeting with UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Saturday held at former's official residence in Sheetal Niwas, the two discussed the issues related to forming a high-level authority for the reconstruction of quake-hit areas and constitution drafting process.
On the occasion, President Yadav urged to intensify the constitution drafting process and to maintain harmonious relations among the three bodies of the state.
A meeting of the four major political parties on Friday concluded that the recent stay-order of the Supreme Court (SC) has crossed its jurisdiction and that has affected the constitution drafting process though it was intensified after the 16-point pact signed by the four major political parties.
After the meeting, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal said that discussions were held with the President on 16-point deal, constitution writing process and SC's directive and other issues.
Dahal said, "The President inquired about the relief distribution to the earthquake survivors in an effective manner and the efforts ongoing for the formation of the high-level authority for the reconstruction of the quake-hit property. The President also expressed his concerns for the discussions and progress between the parties in this regard."
Likewise, Dahal shared that President Dr Yadav also inquired about the SC's recent directive and the relations of the state's three bodies.
Dahal added he told the President that the four major political parties decided on Friday to urge the SC to correct its directive. "We four parties have agreed to urge the SC to scrap the Friday's directive," Dahal told the journalists.
A single bench of Justice Girishchandra Lal had issued a directive not to implement the 16-point deal signed by the four parties arguing that it was against the spirit of the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2063. RSS
