“Our effort is never enough. I doubt if I really deserve to be felicitated because I don´t think I have done anything huge to reduce HIV and AIDS. Until and unless parents start talking to their children about safe sex practices, nothing much can be done to reduce the fear of this disease,” said former beauty queen and now an entrepreneur Malvika Subba after being felicitated by Naya Goreto. Comedy actors Hari Bansha Acharya and Madan Krishna Shrestha were also among those felicitated at the function held at Hotel Himalaya.
At the second National Media Conference on HIV and AIDS , organized by the NGO, journalist Shiva Raj Bhatta from the far-western Nepal was also honored as part of the NGO´s trend of awarding a journalist for a better coverage of HIV/AIDS throughout the year.
Chief guest Shankar Pokharel, minister of Information and communications, gave away the token of love and certificates to the nominees this year.

At the program Chairman of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Dharmendra Jha said, “Media plays a huge role in influencing people on various aspects. If we can make a right approach to a right audience, we can bring a huge change in the society. It´s high time all of us (journalists) gave high priority to coverage of health issues.”
The MaHa duo (Madan Krishna and Hari Bansha) shared how they have been making consistent effort in spreading awareness among the people about unsafe sexual practices and the consequences they bring along.
“If you really want to work for the nation, you should not expect anything in return. I´ve seen the darkest consequences of HIV/AIDS and I have spent days with people who are infected with this disease. They regret being careless but it´s inspiring to see them so hopeful of living their lives. However, it would be foolish to think that we have done enough. The statistics still not vary marginally. We´ve so much to do,” added Hari Bansha Acharya.
