KATHMANDU, June 1: Majority of leaders from 30-party opposition alliance have suggested UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to refrain from the idea of forming national unity government in the status quo.

General Secretary of Sadbhavana Party Manish Kumar Suman informed that leaders airing their views at the meeting of the alliance underway at Singha Durbar on Monday advised to place constitution writing in priority.

During the alliance’s meeting on Sunday, Dahal had proposed forming consensual government along with reconstruction and statute writing. The alliance is discussing the proposal today as well.

Demanding stern action against those misusing relief materials meant for quake survivors, leaders stressed on distributing relief on consensus.

“Most of leaders are for distributing relief and writing statute on accord,” Suman said, “No one is in favor of unity government.”
