Hearing on envoy nominee put off

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: The Parliamentary Special Hearing Committee sent a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Monday, seeking details of the setting up of a new Nepali embassy in Canada. The committee had met to hold discussions on two complaints filed against Bhoj Raj Ghimire, who is the government´s pick for Nepal´s ambassador to Canada.



The committee also decided to deliberate on the complaints only after finalization of all the requirements for establishing the embassy in that country.



The MoFA said that it will send its response to the committee on Tuesday. Foreign secretary Madan Bhattarai said ministry was in touch with the Canadian government on setting up the embassy there.
