According to Sarlahi police, the tractor had skidded off and plunged some 40 meters down the road after losing control. The five passengers had died on the spot. [break]
The deceased have been identified as Kajiman Thing, 74, Phulmaya Thing, 44, Maili Thing, 20, Bishal Balon, 25, and Dil Bahadur Rumba, 18. Bishal was the tractor driver.
The injured passengers had been immediately rushed to Birgunj Sub Regional Hospital for treatment.
Of the injured, Bina Moktan,18, of Kyaneshwar VDC-1 and Dal Bahadur Rumba of Narayan Khola VDC, of Sarlahi district have sustained critical injuries. Gyan Bahadur Ting,37, Bhim Bahadur Tamang,36, and Dhan Bahadur Ghising,37, of Kyaneshwar VDC-1 are the other injured in the accident.
