KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Nepal Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (NESOG), in collaboration with Meyer Vitabiotics – an Indian pharmaceutical company that has recently expanded its business in Nepal, organized a special symposium called 'Knowledge Cafe' in Kathmandu.

The symposium, which was organized on Friday with the objective to promote the importance of Women's Health in Nepal, highlighted the importance of various nutrients at every stage of life. Dr Hema Divakar, a renowned gynecologist and obstetrician based in Bangalore, India was also a speaker in the event.

Various issues such as the requirement of calcium for girls and women, how maximum calcium can maximize wellness, the need for preconception care, fetal origins of adult disease and implementation of guidelines for diabetes in pregnancy were discussed in the symposium, according to the organizers.
