According to statistics made available by the Women´s Rehabilitation Center (WOREC), a total of 47 incidents of rape, including eight gang rape, two marital rape, and seven attempted rape were registered in the region in that year. [break]
Similarly, seven cases of sexual exploitation occurred in the region during the year time.
WOREC program coordinator, Manjita Upadhyay, said as many as 353 persons had suffered domestic violence during that period.
