Parties seek special security for polls

PYUHAN: In view of possible security challenges in the home district of CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya, other political parties in the district on Saturday suggested to the security agencies to put in place special security plan to ward off any attempts at disrupting the polls.



At a meeting with the DIG Rajendra Singh Bhandari, who is the chief of mid-western regional police, political parties urged the security agencies to take special security measures keeping in view the threats issued by CPN-Maoist.[break]



 According to Krishna Adhikari of UCPN (Maoist), the parties also asked the security agencies to be more cautious during the festive season. DIG Bhandari assured that he would leave no stone unturned to ensure free and fair polls.
