Prithivi Highway obstructed

TANAHU, June 27: Relatives and neighbours of a girl who died in a road accident have blocked the Muglin-Kotre section of the Prithivi Highway, demanding compensation for the affected family and action against the bus driver responsible for the accident.[break]



As a result, the section of the highway remains closed since 1:00 pm on Sunday.



Pratikshya Kayastha,18, of Pokhara-3 died in the accident while her sister who was riding the scooter sustained serious injuries.



The accident took place at Ghansikuwa VDC-8, Tanahu on Wednesday afternoon when the passenger bus (Na.4Kha. 7437) hit the scooter coming from the opposite direction.



Talks with the agitating side are underway in presence of the bus entrepreneur, said DSP Lal Bahadur Sonam.



The bus driver is under police custody.
