Some of the remains were recovered intact, while others consisted only of body parts. The recovered remains have been kept at the mortuary of Bharatpur Hospital, said Rameshwar Poudel, chief of the Chitwan District Police Office.

According to Poudel, nine bodies recovered in Tanahun were initially sent to Chitwan but were returned to Tanahun because there was no space to keep them here.

All three security agencies in the district have begun searching along the riverbanks for more bodies. As the Bharatpur Hospital mortuary has run out of space, preparations are underway to manage newly recovered bodies at the offices of industrial establishments, Poudel said.
