11 bodies recovered from Trishuli River bus accident so far; seven identified bodies handed over to families

CHITWAN, July 15: Eleven bodies have been recovered following the bus accident in the Trishuli River last Friday. The District Administration Office, Chitwan, has confirmed that seven of these bodies have been identified.

Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indradev Yadav, stated that among the identified victims, two are Indian citizens.

Eight bodies were found on the banks of the Narayani River in Ward No. 28 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City and Ward No.-2 of Gaindakot Municipality, one in West Nawalparasi, and two in Susta Nahar.

According to the District Administration Office, Chitwan, one of the identified victims is Sudip BK, 22, from Padampokhari, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22, and another is Feroz Rahup Mia, 17, from Jamunamai-4, Rautahat.

Sudip was a passenger on the Ba Pra 03-006 Kha1516 bus traveling from Birgunj to Kathmandu, while Mia was on the Ba Pra 03-001 Kha 2495 bus going from Kathmandu to Gaur in Rautahat. Their bodies were brought to Chitwan from Binayi Triveni in East Nawalparasi around 2 PM last night.

CDO Yadav also mentioned that the identified bodies have been handed over to their families.

On Friday, 65 passengers were traveling in the Ba Pra 03-006 Kha 1516 Angel Deluxe bus going to Kathmandu from Birgunj and the Ganapati Bus Ba Pra 03-001 Kha 2495 going from Kathmandu to Gaur. Among them, three passengers managed to save their lives by jumping from the window of the bus, while others remain missing along with the buses.
