Flights disrupted for an hour at TIA

KATHMANDU, May 20: National and International flights were disrupted for some time at the Tribhuvan International Airport today as the airport was closed for a brief period.



The flights were disrupted for an hour from 11:00 am due to unfavorable climate following the rainfall that occurred today.



National and international flights could not be operated and aircrafts could not land after TIA was closed for some time.



Manager of the Domestic Airport under TIA, Purna Chudal, said that the airport was closed as the climate was unfavorable following the rainfall.



National and international flights were affected as there could be technical difficulty to make flights during heavy rainfall and unfavorable climate.There are 240 domestic flights and 70 international flights from TIA, everyday.



Similarly, mountain flights were also disrupted today. Out of 25 flights, only eight flights were made for sight seeing, said TIA.
