As per the agreement, the Government of Nepal will ensure the security of the Coordinator and member of the JTMM during the talks period while the group will join mainstream peaceful politics.
Likewise, the group will hand over its weapons to the government while the state will look into cases registered against the members of the then underground outfit and those serving jail sentence.
Other just demands of the group will be realized gradually, it is stated in the agreement.
The agreement was signed by Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Kumar Shrestha on behalf of the government and by Rohan Yadav, the coordinator of the talks team of the group.
Talking to reporters following the agreement, Minister Shrestha said the agreement was based on the norms and values of country´s sovereignty, integrity, national interest and national unity.
The Government has so far held talks and signed peace agreements with 54 such groups, according to Joint Secretary at the Peace Ministry Dev Raj Dhakal.
