Nepali women basketball players, who had played a very competitive game against South Korea on Wednesday, failed to score a single point. Japan was declared winner 2 minutes before the final whistle.
Nora Gurung, captain of the Nepali team, said: “The lack of exposure and the superior height quality of Japanese players is the main reason of our poor performance.”
Samikshan Bista, Shiva Karmacharya, Rajshri Thapa and Nora played in the match against Japan. The possibility of advancing to the next round for Nepal ended after the defeat.
