5th Jhamsikhel Street Festival set to take place on Saturday

LALITPUR, Jan 31: Jhamsikhel Youth Club is gearing up for ‘5th Jhamsikhel Street Festival’ on Saturday, February 3, to continue the tradition of organizing festivals to maintain the vibrancy of Jhamsikhel’s tourism sector.

According to the Chairperson of Jhamsikhel Youth Club, Sandan Thapa Magar, the festival is also a part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote domestic tourism.

Spokesperson of the club, Kaushal Ghimire, said it would be the fifth time that the club was organizing the street festival. “We have been organizing the street festival once every four years. We did it in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019, and now we are organizing it again,” Ghimire said.

The street festival is said to have many attractions including a Rock concert featuring Mukti and Revival, Anuprastha, Cobweb, and the new addition, Brothers N Band. “The festival will also feature Lok Dohori singers including Komal Oli. There will also be standup comedy performances by artists like Raja Rajendra, Purna Thapa, and Ravi Dangol,” Ghimire said.

The streets of Jhamsikhel will host stalls featuring food, handicrafts, face painting, as well as bingo and carnival games for children, according to the organizers.
