Woman kills 'adopted brother'

POKHARA, Feb 25: A 35-year-old woman killed her adopted brother (26) in Pokhara on Saturday, police said.



Police arrested Kalpana Nakarmi, a permanent resident of Saunepani-9, Udayapur in accuse of murdering Amar Rana Magar residing at Fulbari-12 of Pokhara. [break]



Magar’s body was recovered with throat slit at a field nearby Prithivi Narayan Campus, Kaski Police Spokesperson Rabindra Poudel informed. The body has been taken to Western Zonal hospital for post-mortem.



The police said that Nakarmi accompanied by two others killed Magar on Saturday inviting him in her room at around 8 pm and later reached to police station to file the murder complaint. “My brother and I had gone to visit the garden yesterday night. Suddenly, two people attacked us and tied my hand from behind. They then killed my brother,” Nakarmi said in her police statement.



However, the police were not convinced with Nakarmi’s words. “Finding her behavior suspicious we asked her to take us to the site where incident occurred. After interrogating her for a while, she confessed masterminding the crime,” Paudel said.



Police have intensified search of the accomplices.
