Chess team off to Sri Lanka

KATHMANDU, June 27: A three-member Nepali chess team left for Sri Lanka on Friday to participate in the Continental Asian Junior and Girls U-20 Chess Championship to be held in Colombo from July 1-8.



U-19 champion Nikesh Duwal and women´s champion Mona Lisa Khumbu will represent Nepal in the tournament. Hirakaji Maharjan is the official of the Nepali team. Nepal Chess Association vice-president Santesman Singh Pradhan bade farewell to the team amidst a function on Friday.
