Joint inspection for Koshi breach closure

KATHMANDU, June 10: Amid numerous reports claiming the Koshi embankment works carried out by India are yet to be completed, a joint inspection team for the Koshi breach closure works left for the site on Wednesday.



The inspection will be carried out by Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Minister of Water Resources, Government of Bihar, Rakesh Sood, Ambassador of India to Nepal, Ajay Nayak, Principal Secretary, Department of Water Resources, Government of Bihar, Mahendra B Gurung, Director General, Department of Water Induced Disaster Prevention and Anil Kumar Pokheral, DDG, Department of Irrigation, Government of Nepal on June 11.



There will be an interaction of the joint delegation with media at Hawa Mahal, Kusaha on June 11, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu informed.



Ambassador Sood claimed on June 8 that all works relating to the embankment had been completed by India. However, the Parliamentary committee which reached the site for investigation claimed the work had not been completed.
