Nepal-China security personnel conduct joint border inspection

Security personnel from Nepal and China conducted a collective inspection of the northern border area in Humla. The inspection was carried out on Saturday at the border point in Kit, located in Namkha Rural Municipality-5, Hilsa.

SIMKOT (HUMLA), Jan 26: Security personnel from Nepal and China conducted a collective inspection of the northern border area in Humla. The inspection was carried out on Saturday at the border point in Kit, located in Namkha Rural Municipality-5, Hilsa.


As per the agreement between the security forces of the two countries, the joint inspection was carried out at the border and the boundary pillars in the Kit area, said Armed Police Inspector Krishna Bahadur Ojha, also the chief of the Armed Police Force Border Security Post in Hilsa. He noted that the area from Hilsa to Kit experiences extreme cold.

Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police (DSP) Devraj Rai of Armed Police 44th Battalion in Simkot mentioned that the joint inspection aimed to prevent undesirable incidents at the border, assess the condition of boundary pillars, and enhance coordination between security personnel from both sides.


Additionally, Nepalis security personnel have been patrolling areas from Hilsa to Nara and Limi. The inspection team included Chinese security personnel, along with members of the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police.


The Armed Police Force has been deployed for border security in the northern Hilsa area since the establishment of the force in 2020. Despite heavy snowfall in winter, which undermines travelling in Yari and Hilsa in northern Namkha, security personnel remain stationed year-round to ensure border security, according to DSP Rai.
