KATHMANDU, Oct 13: Nepali Congress leader Chakra Prasad Bastola has passed away on Saturday evening. He was 74.
According to the spokesperson of the party Bishwa Prakash Sharma, leader Bastola breathed his last at 9.20 at his own residence.
Former Minister Bastola was in the coma following the brain hemorrhage while attending a program in Biratnagar on 29 December 2012. He was known as the prominent leader in the democratic movement of Nepal and in the party as well.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that condition of Bastola had been critical.
Even though he was admitted at Neuro Hospital on Saturday, he was discharged at 4 pm, saying that he was clinically dead.
