BUSINESS BRIEFS: Nepal-Turkey business pact signed

KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Nepal-Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NTCCI) and the Union of Chambers of Commodity Exchange of Turkey (UCCET) agreed on Wednesday to exchange cooperation in promoting business between the two countries.



According to a press statement issued by NTCCI, the pact was signed in Kathmandu at a meeting between a team of Nepalese businessmen led by Akhil Chapagain, president of NTCCI, and a visiting UCCET delegation headed by its president, Rona Yircali.[break]



On the occasion, Chapagain stressed that both parties should identify opportunities for joint ventures in trade and other mutual business interests in the coming days.



Rona Yircali requested the Nepalese business community to join hands to promote mutual trade interests between the two countries, especially in the energy and construction sectors.



New Suzuki bike showroom at Ratopul



KATHMANDU
: Ganesh Enterprises, the authorized distributor of Suzuki motorcycles, inaugurated its new showroom at Ratopul on Wednesday. It also launched an exchange offer with finance facilities for customers who wish to upgrade their motorcycles. The exchange offer, however, is available only at its Ratopul showroom and is valid from October 4 to 10, the company said issuing a press statement on Thursday. In addition to that, Suzuki also introduced scratch coupons for its customers as the festive scheme for Dashain. According to the statement, customers can get a minimum discount of Rs 10,000 and also win Rs 20,000, Rs 25,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 100,000 through the scratch card. The festive scheme is valid till November 20.



Etihad offers anniversary fares for Europe



KATHMANDU
: Etihad Airways has announced special anniversary fares for Europe, under which people planning to travel to various European destinations can enjoy their trip at much lower rates. Under the scheme, the company said Nepali passengers in Kathmandu can buy one-way ticket of coral economy class to London at Rs 30,755, Frankfurt at Rs 35,655, Paris at Rs 40,755, Brussels at Rs 53,755 and Geneva at Rs 58,755, among others. Likewise, the two-way tickets to London has been offered at Rs 56,955, Frankfurt at Rs 62,955, Paris at Rs 62,955, Brussels at Rs 80,955 and Geneva at Rs 107,055. The rates are exclusive of taxes. According to a press statement, tickets under discounted fares can be bought till October 31 and must be used by November 29, 2012.



MAW organizes operator meet



KATHMANDU
: JCB Division of MAW Enterprises, the sole distributor for JCB construction and heavy equipment in the country, organized an ´Operator Meet´ in Dhangadhi on Thursday with the aim of educating the operators about proactive maintenance of construction equipment. According to a press statement issued by the company, the operators of the JCB construction and heavy equipment were educated about operating the machine safely. Apart from this, the participants were also trained on taking care of the machine in order to minimize the unforeseen breakdown.
