KATHMANDU, Sept 23: A day after, Nepali Congress (NC) decided to take consent of political parties other than four major political forces to end the ongoing political stalemate, the NC leaders talked with newly-formed CPN-Maoist leaders on Saturday.

CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya, during the talks at the NC President Sushil Koirala´s residence at Maharajgunj, reiterated that they wouldn´t accept any decision by four political forces - UCPN (Maoist), NC, CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF).[break]

"We urged Congress leaders not to take any decision only on the basis of discussion among the four forces," Mohan Baidya told Republica adding that the two parties -- NC and CPN-Maoist -- have their own political ideologies but they can stand united when it comes to playing constructive role to end political stalemate.

According to Baidya, Congress President Koirala convened the meeting after his party came to a conclusion that only four forces alone can´t end the political stalemate.

Baidya at the meeting shed light on the need to form a new government saying that it was high time to unseat the present government as it was the main stumbling block to end the crisis.

"We emphasized the need to form a new consensus government to end the political deadlock," said Baidya.

Apart from Baiday, general secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa and party spokesperson Pampha Bhusal from CPN-Maoist and president Koirala, vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel and party spokesman Dilendra Pasad Badu from the NC were present during the talks.

Meanwhile, Rastriya Samachar Samiti, reported NC president Koirala as saying that the country was currently passing through a constitutional crisis and that there was no alternative to all the political parties coming together to resolve the problem.

He also informed the CPN-Maoist leader that he had put forth the proposal in the meeting of the four parties on Friday that the CPN-Maoist too should be included in the future meetings.

Koirala also urged CPN-Maoist to call an all-party meeting to forge political consensus and said that he would attend such a meeting.
